CHRIST in a PONCHO

Adolfo Perez Esquivel, 1980 Nobel Peace Prize winner
for Christ in a Poncho said this: “Capitalism and communism
are both imperialisms that provide only half answers. They
make the human being an object … We want something
besides capitalism or communism, something on the order
to self-management and sharing.”

"FREE" HAS BECOME A DIRTY WORD . . .

. . . in our culture because, it appears, that most often there ARE STRINGS ATTACHED. The notion that "no one gets something for nothing" ! It seems to be
true.

In the business landscape, we always have to be wary about fine print which says:

* by the way, you must give us your credit/debit card ..just in case you go over
our time limit of (so many days, etc.) And somehow they know you will!)

* and then, there are a lot of other conditions your head can't hang onto ...
have you read those pages of Terms of Agreement, and retained it in your brain?

So, you ask, how can you trust anyone, if you've ordered something with these
conditions via Internet, only to find that they 1) took your money out a month
before you received the item, and/or 2) the carrier lost it and you have to go
through a lot of rig-a-ma-roll to track it down" ! If you're lucky enough to
negotiate the carrier website because you have the time and tenacity to hang in
there, despite your frustration... then you can beat the system !

Banks usually honor the people who take money out of your account first, and you
end up having to go through their process to prove that YOU didn't order it in the first place !

PeopleShare Services puts you face-to-face
with local people whom you offer or request
any free services and goods.

PeopleShare Services has a short, clean-cut
Agreement in big print that everyone
can easily understand and use.

"Free" in this system doesn't meet you must
sacrifice quality of Service...in fact, you'll
actually get better response that you would
with cash, credit, bartering or time dollars!

There are major distinctions between the values and intentions between this Gift Economy and your average American business. And the potential impact during Hard Times to local households, home businesses, religious and social civic groups is enormous!

If you have any entrepreneurial experience, your feedback on the quality on this new local economic alternative to cash, credit, bartering, etc is needed. Your involvement will not only benefit your neighborhood, your town, but could possibly become your own home business as well!
